A: Salary Cap football is the fastest growing fantasy game on the market. It.s a concept that captures the experience of being a professional Coach, GM, and an Owner. all at the same time! This is your chance to be an owner (decide who to hire and fire), be a GM (scout players and receive a performance rating), and be the coach (decide who starts and who sits).
Q: What is a salary cap?
A: Just like any professional team, you have to live under a salary cap. Every week, you must decide who you wish to buy or sell to play on your team. Every player is assigned a market value, and all teams must be at or under the salary cap. Player values change CONSTANTLY according to the market demand.
Q: How is this different then a league game?
A: This is actually better! Unlike league games, where it.s all about a lucky draft, you have the ability to choose the players you like on a week to week basis. Plus, in virtually every league, there.s very little trading... if any at all. At Dell Sports, we think the fun is in the trading. That.s why we offer unlimited trading 24/7. As long as you can afford the players salary, he.s yours for the taking! It.s that simple.
Q: Is there a draft?
A: Nope. You just start building the team you like at or under the salary cap. With everything from scouting reports and player rankings, to archived stats and live player news, we have all the tools you need to make good decisions. Why waste time drafting a team when one or two key injuries can destroy your entire season? With Salary Cap fantasy football, you create a new roster every week!
Q: Who am I playing against?
A: Unlike most other league games, where your thrown into some random public group of people you don.t know, you will be playing against people ONLY in your local area. You.ll be competing with local celebrities for great prizes. You can even form your own private group with your friends and compete against them as well. All private groups get their own standings, a smack board, and a personalized voting poll.
Q: How involved is setting your roster?
A: Setting your roster is very easy. With our user friendly interface, you simply drag and drop the players on and off your roster. If the player has a bye week (when his team isn.t playing for that week), we even highlight that player so you know he.s not playing in that week.
Q: How often can you trade?
A: You can trade as often as you like. and it.s totally free! Trading is free 24/7 from Tuesday morning to Sunday at Noon EST. The only time you can.t trade is when the games are going on and all rosters are locked from Sunday at Noon EST through Tuesday morning.
Q: How do the player salaries work?
A: When you decide to .hire. a player, you keep them at the salary you hired them at for as long as you like. Throughout the season, their market salary (their current salary) may go up or down depending on market demand. There will be times when you own a player at a salary greater than their current market salary. In this case, you will want to .fire. the player and re-hire him at the cheaper market salary. If his current salary is greater then the salary you have him at. congratulations... you.re good GM! You want to hold onto that player.
Q: How do you win the game?
A: The best part of our game is the biggest prize goes to the highest weekly score for the season. So, you don.t need to be competitive EVERY week. You just need that one great week. We also track your cumulative score, and there may also be prizes for the highest overall score as well. Check your game rules for more details.
